Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Anthony Mercer (Anton Soloviev), doing business as PRAVIEL ("PRAVIEL," "we," or "us"). They govern your use of the PRAVIEL apps for iOS, Android, and the web, praviel.com and our other websites, and related services, content, and features (together, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use PRAVIEL. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

We may change these Terms at any time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and change the date at the top, and we may give additional notice of significant changes, such as in the app or by email. Changes take effect when posted unless we say otherwise. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.

Some features require an account. Give us accurate information and keep it current. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@praviel.com if you suspect unauthorized use.

Accounts are personal and may not be sold, transferred, or shared. Do not create accounts to abuse the Service, evade limits, or get around a suspension.

You can delete your account at any time in the app's settings. The Privacy Policy and the account deletion page explain what happens next.

PRAVIEL is currently free to use, and no paid plan is offered today.

We may introduce paid plans, subscriptions, features, content, or other offers at any time, and we decide what is included in free and paid access. We may also change, limit, or discontinue any part of the Service, including features that are free today.

If we offer something for purchase, its price and key terms will be shown before you confirm. Purchases in the iOS and Android apps are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms, including their rules on billing, renewal, taxes, and refunds. Prices may vary by region, and we may change prices for future billing periods as the stores allow.

Some app versions offer optional tips. Tips are voluntary, do not unlock content, features, or account privileges, and are not refundable except where the store's policy or the law requires.

If you have a subscription through an app store, you can cancel it in that store's subscription settings. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end of the current paid period. Deleting your PRAVIEL account does not cancel a store subscription.

Refunds for app-store purchases are handled by the store under its policies. Except where the law requires, we do not provide refunds or credits for partial periods, unused features, or virtual items. See our Refund Policy for details.

Offers sold through third-party platforms, such as the PRAVIEL Discord server shop, are billed and refunded under those platforms' own terms.

The Service may include virtual items and progress features such as XP, coins, streaks, streak freezes, and achievements. They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for real money, and cannot be sold, transferred, or redeemed outside the Service.

You receive a limited license to use virtual items within the Service. We may change, rebalance, reset, or remove virtual items and progress features, for example to correct errors or to address fraud or abuse, and they end when your account ends.

You may use PRAVIEL for personal learning, study, and teaching. Schools and organizations that want to use PRAVIEL more broadly can contact business@praviel.com.

You agree not to:

• Break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
• Copy, scrape, harvest, or redistribute content or data from the Service, or use it to build or train other products or AI models, without our written permission.
• Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to access the Service, except assistive technologies.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the Service, or get around its security, limits, or access controls.
• Cheat, exploit bugs, or manipulate XP, leaderboards, streaks, or other progress features.
• Share your account, or access someone else's without permission.
• Upload malware or anything that disrupts or overloads the Service.
• Harass, threaten, impersonate, or harm others, or post unlawful, hateful, or sexually explicit content.

We may investigate violations and, at our discretion, remove content, limit features, or suspend or terminate accounts.

You keep ownership of the content you submit, such as messages, notes, comments, recordings, and reports ("Your Content"). You give PRAVIEL a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, adapt, and display Your Content as needed to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Service.

You are responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the rights to submit it. We may review, remove, or refuse any content at our discretion, but we have no obligation to monitor it. If we add social or community features, these Terms apply to them, and we may set additional rules.

If you believe something on the Service infringes your copyright, email legal@praviel.com with a description of the work, where it appears on the Service, and your contact details. We may remove the material and, where appropriate, terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

If you send us ideas, suggestions, or feedback, we may use them for any purpose without restriction or payment to you.

PRAVIEL includes authentic ancient texts and historical material. These reflect their own times and may include violence, religious or cultural practices, references to alcohol, or views that differ from modern norms. We present them for education, not endorsement. Parents and guardians decide what is appropriate for the minors they supervise.

Some content, including explanations, exercises, images, audio, and Coach responses, is created or assisted by AI. We work to make content accurate, but it may contain errors, and the pronunciation of ancient languages rests on scholarly reconstruction. Do not rely on the Service for professional, academic, religious, or other advice.

The Service and everything in it, including the software, lessons, exercises, translations, audio, images, design, and the PRAVIEL name and logos, is owned by PRAVIEL or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. PRAVIEL is proprietary, and we reserve all rights not expressly granted.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial learning. Commercial use of PRAVIEL content, for example in a paid course or publication, requires written permission from business@praviel.com.

Public-domain texts remain in the public domain. Some reader texts come from the Perseus Digital Library under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license, and other third-party material is used under its own license.

Do not use our trademarks without our prior written permission.

The Service may link to or rely on third-party services, such as app stores, Discord, and payment or donation platforms. Their own terms govern your use of them, and we are not responsible for them.

If you downloaded a PRAVIEL app from the Apple App Store:

• These Terms are between you and PRAVIEL, not Apple. PRAVIEL, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content, and Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it.
• If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which may refund any purchase price you paid for the app. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
• Apple is not responsible for addressing claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, or intellectual property claims.
• You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on a U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

If you downloaded a PRAVIEL app from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply to your use of the store.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. You can delete your account in the app, and the account deletion and data deletion pages describe your options.

You may stop using the Service at any time, and you can delete your account in the app.

We may suspend, limit, or terminate your access to all or part of the Service, or delete your account, at any time and for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms, if the law requires it, to protect the Service or others, or after a long period of inactivity. Where appropriate, we will try to give notice, but we are not required to.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue the Service or any part of it at any time. We do not guarantee that any feature, content, language, or course will remain available.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including those on intellectual property, virtual items, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and disputes.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that content will be accurate or complete, that any feature, price, or free access will stay the same, or that you will reach any learning outcome. Results depend on your own effort and other factors.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, PRAVIEL AND ITS OWNER, AFFILIATES, CONTRACTORS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR PROGRESS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE OR 100 U.S. DOLLARS.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or limits, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

To the extent the law allows, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PRAVIEL and its owner, affiliates, contractors, and licensors from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or of anyone's rights.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Before bringing a claim, contact legal@praviel.com and give us at least 30 days to try to resolve it informally.

If we cannot resolve it, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its applicable rules. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies, and either party may ask a court for injunctive relief to protect intellectual property rights.

YOU AND PRAVIEL EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO TAKE PART IN A CLASS ACTION, CLASS ARBITRATION, OR OTHER REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.

If a court decides that the class and representative proceeding waiver above cannot be enforced for a particular claim, that claim will be decided by a court, not in arbitration. Changes we make to this section will not apply to a dispute that either of us raised before the change took effect.

To the extent the law allows, any claim must be brought within one year after it arose. If arbitration does not apply, claims must be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If the law of the country where you live gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts or under your local law, nothing here takes that right away.

• Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the policies they reference, are the entire agreement between you and PRAVIEL about the Service.
• Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may assign them, including to a successor in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer to a new legal entity.
• Severability and waiver. If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
• Force majeure. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of third-party services.
• No agency. These Terms do not create a partnership, employment, or agency relationship.
• Notices. We may send notices through the Service or to the email address linked to your account. Send legal notices to legal@praviel.com.
• Language. We may translate these Terms for convenience. If a translation differs from the English version, the English version controls to the extent the law allows.
